Theory of Critical Fluctuations and Singularities

چکیده
(1) In the previous lectures the behavior of the macroscopic thermodynamic functions of systems in equilibrium near critical points has been discussed. Notations for the various exponents describing the critical singularities have been introduced and the connections between them have been described [l]. In this talk we enter the microscopic domain by studying the correlation functions and their relation, on the one hand, to the thermodynamic properties and, on the other hand, to the phenomena of critical fluctuations as observed through critical opalescence and scattering experiments. Perhaps the most important correlation function is the net pair correlation function, namely, in a fluid system

Rings of Singularities
This paper is a slightly revised version of an introduction into singularity theory corresponding to a series of lectures given at the ``Advanced School and Conference on homological and geometrical methods in representation theory'' at the International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), Miramare - Trieste, Italy, 11-29 January 2010. We show how to associate to a triple of posit...
متن کاملبررسی شکافتگی کوچک و دیگر تکینگیهای آینده عالم و برقراری قانون دوم ترمودینامیک در نظریه
The future singularities are possible in a universe that is described by F(R) theory. In previous studies the occurrence of the singularities in F(R) theory have been considered by using a special function for the Hubble parameter and calculating the F(R) function for each of the singularities. Using the specified Hubble parameter causes some difficulties in the study of the second law of therm...
متن کاملQuantum critical behavior of itinerant ferromagnets
We investigate the quantum phase transition of itinerant ferromagnets. It is shown that correlation effects in the underlying itinerant electron system lead to singularities in the order parameter field theory that result in an effective long-range interaction between the spin fluctuations. This interaction turns out to be generically antiferromagnetic for clean systems. In disordered systems a...
متن کاملAPPLICATION OF THE RANDOM MATRIX THEORY ON THE CROSS-CORRELATION OF STOCK PRICES
The analysis of cross-correlations is extensively applied for understanding of interconnections in stock markets. Variety of methods are used in order to search stock cross-correlations including the Random Matrix Theory (RMT), the Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and the Hierachical Structures. In this work, we analyze cross-crrelations between price fluctuations of 20 company stocks...
متن کاملIntroduction to Renormalization Group and Ward Identities in Critical Phenomena and in Fermi and Bose Liquids
We review some of the main applications of the renormalization-group technique in condensed matter physics. The first relevant example is the description of critical phenomena. Here perturbation theory is affected by singularities, which are a consequence of the long-ranged character of the dominant fluctuations when approaching criticality. The use of renormalization group allows to sum up the...
